Little Artists Studio: Spring Butterfly Craft

Spring is the season of flowers… and butterflies! Here’s a spring craft from our Little Artists Studio classes we host at the Museum. Filled with arts and crafts, our Little Artists creative adventures also include science and literacy tie-ins!

Supplies Needed:

  • Paper or cardstock
  • Popsicle stick
  • Pencil
  • Markers or crayons
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Tape
  • Scissors (Adult supervision required.)
  • Eye stickers (optional)

1. Fold your paper in half and trace your hand on one side with a pencil.

2. Using markers, decorate both sides of the paper with any design you can imagine!

3. With the paper still folded in half, cut out your hand prints.

4. Tape your cutouts onto each side of a popsicle stick to become butterfly wings.

5. Cut a pipe cleaner in half. Fold that half into two and tape to top of popsicle stick for antennae.

6. Add eyes to your butterfly with stickers or draw them on with marker. Your butterfly is ready to fly!
