Earth Day & World Astronomy Day

April 21, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm EDT

We’re celebrating Earth Day (a little early) & World Astronomy Day (right on time).

Join us at the Museum for special activities from 10am-4pm, including stomp rockets, plastic bracelets and other recycled bottle creations, Hide and Seek Moon, coffee filter Earths and
Earth Day promises.

This will be our second event using our toolkit by The National Informal STEM Education Network (NISE Net)!

The Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut was among 250 museums and institutions throughout the country awarded this special toolkit by NISE Net. In collaboration with NASA, the NISE Network has assembled a new set of engaging, hands-on Earth and space science experiences with connections to science, technology, and society.

But wait, there’s more Earth Day fun to be had in town:
Be sure to head over the McCook’s Point Park before or after for the Earth Day 2018 celebration from 10am -2pm. Steve Elci and Friends will be there to kick-off the festivities. Look for the Museum table to play our Biodegrading Timeline Game! Pick up an Earth Day 2018 Bingo Card at the event and collect enough stamps for a bingo to receive a free Museum admission.
