Sensory-Friendly Evening: Winter Fun

December 17, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm EST

Free

Join us for a special evening, which is free for families with children on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing challenges. During this event, the Museum will be made more welcoming to our more sensitive guests, along with having some quiet corners and sensory bins set-up throughout the facility. Children will be able to choose what activities they would like to participate in and do them at whatever time they feel most comfortable within the two-hour time frame.

Evening Theme: Winter Fun

The Museum will be filled with “Holiday Cheer” as attendees have the chance to participate in a variety of winter-themed activities and crafts including beaded snowflakes, reindeer headbands, marshmallow snowmen, melting ice and snow slime.

Documentation of diagnosis is not required. These events are funded by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut.

Masks are optional for children with sensory issues, but are required for the remainder or the party.
