Sensory-Friendly Evening: Holiday Fun
December 18, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm EST
Free
Join us for a special evening, which is free for families with children on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing challenges. During this event, the Museum will be made more welcoming to our more sensitive guests, along with having some quiet corners and sensory bins set-up throughout the facility. Children will be able to choose what activities they would like to participate in and do them at whatever time they feel most comfortable within the two-hour time frame.
Evening Theme: Holiday Fun
The Museum will be filled with “Holiday Cheer” as attendees have the chance to participate in winter and holiday-themed activities and crafts including making snowmen and jingle necklaces along with experiencing some snow slime. A special holiday visitor (or two) will also make an appearance during the evening!
Documentation of diagnosis is not required. These events are funded by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation.
Masks are optional for children with sensory issues, but are required for the remainder or the party.
