Sensory-Friendly Evenings at the Museum
September 25, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT
Free
Join us for two special evenings this fall (Sept. 25 & Oct. 23), which are free for families with children on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing challenges. During these events, the Museum will be made more welcoming to our more sensitive guests, along with having some quiet corners and sensory bins set-up throughout the facility. Children will be able to choose what activities they would like to participate in and do them at whatever time they feel most comfortable within the two-hour time frame. Documentation of diagnosis is not required.
Music Day – September 25
Participants will be able to play a variety of musical instruments such as maracas and tambourines along with having the chance to make their own instruments like shakers and drums.
Documentation of diagnosis is not required. These events are funded by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation.
