Summer Science Days: Astronomy

July 15, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm EDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 9:30 am, repeating until July 19, 2019

Join us for a summer filled with science, learning and wonder at the Children’s Museum of Southeastern CT. We’ll be exploring a different science each week from July 1 to August 23 (from 9:30am-4pm) with demonstrations (from 10:30am-3:30pm) and hands-on activities. All activities are FREE with Museum admission thanks to the generosity of Pfizer, our Summer Science Days sponsor.

Astronomy – July 15-19

Children become astronauts as they take a tour of our solar system. They will learn what stars and constellations are and make their own constellation viewer. Visitors can try some space-related experiments and explore eclipses through our Bear’s Shadow activity. Join in the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Apollo’s Moon Landing by learning the phases of the moon, making craters in moon sand, creating with moon paint and touching our simulated moon samples.
