Summer Science Days: Astronomy

August 21, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm EDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 11:00 am, repeating until August 25, 2017

Summer Science Days!

A summer filled with science, learning and wonder. We’ll be exploring a different science each week from July 3 to August 25. Come learn with us!

Children become astronauts as they take a tour of our solar system.

They will learn what stars and constellations are and make their own constellation viewer. They will experience the relationship between the Earth, Sun and Moon through our Illuminated Orbiter. Visitors can try our Big Sun, Small Moon Experiment and take home their own Pocket Solar System.

Guests will participate in special eclipse activities such as Bear’s Shadow, especially on August 21 when a solar eclipse will be occurring in the United States.  They will study the moon by making craters in moon sand as well as touching our simulated moon samples. Building rocket ships and blasting off always results in learning and fun!

All activities free with Museum admission.
