Summer Science Days: Biology
July 22, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm EDT

Join us for a summer filled with science, learning and wonder at the Children’s Museum of Southeastern CT. We’ll be exploring a different science each week from July 1 to August 23 (from 9:30am-4pm) with demonstrations (from 10:30am-3:30pm) and hands-on activities. All activities are FREE with Museum admission thanks to the generosity of Pfizer, our Summer Science Days sponsor.
Biology – July 22-26
Biology is the study of living things and their vital processes. Children will learn about life cycles of plants and animals. There will be opportunities for children to dissect seeds in order to find the baby plant inside, to identify different plant parts using a root tank, and to plant and work in the Museum garden. During this week, we will also take a look at the lifecycles of butterflies, honeybees, ladybugs and frogs. There will be daily Meet the Animals demonstrations with our Museum residents, which include a leopard gecko, Russian tortoise, Australian tree frogs, bearded dragon, and Caribbean hermit crabs.
