Summer Science Days: Construction Engineering

July 8, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm EDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 9:30 am, repeating until July 12, 2019

Join us for a summer filled with science, learning and wonder at the Children’s Museum of Southeastern CT. We’ll be exploring a different science each week from July 1 to August 23 (from 9:30am-4pm) with demonstrations (from 10:30am-3:30pm) and hands-on activities. All activities are FREE with Museum admission thanks to the generosity of Pfizer, our Summer Science Days sponsor.

Construction Engineering – July 8-12

Let’s get building! This week is full of physics concepts such as force and motion, gravity, and simple machines. Children will have the opportunity to build a marshmallow tower strong enough to hold weight, construct a marble roller coaster, and learn about the wheel and axle by making their own Life Saver car! Visitors will explore Newton’s Laws of Motion through the Museum’s “Create a Chain Reaction” Kit. Let’s not forget about creating a Tegu masterpiece and even build a shelter from our Museum Thinker Linkers! There are tons of opportunities to build and explore this week!
