Summer Science Days: Earth Science
July 3, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm EDT

A summer filled with science, learning and wonder. We’ll be exploring a different science each week from July 3 to August 25. Come learn with us!
This week, children will experience three different aspects of earth science: the effects of pollution on earth, natural disasters, and oceanography.
Visitors will learn about point and nonpoint sources of pollution in the environment and the effects of both on wetlands, estuaries, the ocean, beaches and even coral reefs and shellfish beds through hands on activities simulated with the Wetland and Coastal Enviroscapes®.
Using the Waste Management Enviroscape® model, children will discover the importance of proper waste disposal and complete a recycling activity. We will learn about volcanoes and earthquakes by erupting our own volcanoes and building towers that can withstand earthquakes. Children will have hands-on time with live creatures, seaweed samples, and seashells from local beaches. Guests will also explore rocks, gems and fossils.
All activities free with Museum admission.
