Summer Science Days: Electricity and Magnetism

July 29, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm EDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 9:30 am, repeating until August 2, 2019

Join us for a summer filled with science, learning and wonder at the Children’s Museum of Southeastern CT. We’ll be exploring a different science each week from July 1 to August 23 (from 9:30am-4pm) with demonstrations (from 10:30am-3:30pm) and hands-on activities. All activities are FREE with Museum admission thanks to the generosity of Pfizer, our Summer Science Days sponsor.

Electricity and Magnetism – July 29-August 2

This sizzling program explores the power of electricity and magnetism through plasma balls, magnetic rings and more! Experience electricity in action through our exciting Van de Graaff Generator demonstrations. Children can become part of a Human Circuit or use Snap Circuits to make a light glow, rotate a fan or start a motor. We’ll even try to harvest electricity from everyday foods! Guests will also have the chance to experiment and build with magnets along with creating their own magnet craft to take home.
